Beach Holiday! - Mon 10th August

We hadn't been able to get the air conditioning working last night so didn't sleep well but when we opened the shutters from our bedroom to the balcony, we suddenly felt so much better. The apartment lies on a small track road and across the road is the beach. The view is fantastic with the bays of Corfu to one side and the mountains of Albania to the other.

Chris, Alex and I decided that an early swim is in order but Shannon was tired and wanted to stay in bed and read. Off the road we trot and into the beautiful blue sea. There are not many properties along this road and the beach is deserted. We spent an hour swimming before Shannon arrived on the beach and we all went back for breakfast.

We decided that, apart from going to stock up with food, today will be a day of rest. We headed of to Acharavi town to do some shopping. It was heaving and hard to park. I think we may have to choose a different supermarket next time as the one we went to had little variety, was packed and expensive.

It was a relief to get back to the apartment. While the others sorted clothes, unpacked shopping and sat down to read, I got on with the washing.

The problem with camping en-route is that we cannot fit in enough clothes to last more than about 5 days so nearly everything needed to be done. It's good drying weather here though so there no worry that it
won't all be ready for wearing tomorrow.

We spent the rest of the day swimming and relaxing in the apartment.
